In Episode 199 below, we review Tully and I share my experience at Independent Film Festival Boston (IFFBoston 2018). This week, I run through my experiences with the best of IFFBoston (4:18) — Eighth Grade, Won’t You Be My Neighbor?, many great docs. But it’s the not-so-best — Third Murder — that intrigues Kris with its strange premise and stranger name. Kris then gushes about his experience hosting the Q&A for the new Agnostic Front documentary The Godfathers of Hardcore (22:57). Then Dave and Kris try and fail to run out of nice things to say about Tully (29:38) which is a damn good movie. This Diablo Cody-Jason Reitman team-up starring Charlize Theron and Mackenzie Davis is making news for its controversial depiction of mental health, but as a mature yet funny statement about reconciling your past self with your present reality, especially after having children.

“Spoilerpiece Theatre” is a weekly movie podcast where I talk about new releases with fellow BOFCA critics Dave Riedel and Kris Jenson. We don’t give a shit about spoilers. We just want to talk about the movies.

Hey Evan! It has been awhile.
Tully was ok, although I could've done without the "twist" ending. My thoughts: https://fastfilmreviews.com/2018/05/06/tully/
